INDUSAPTI is a joint project of Vigyan Ashram ( www.vigyanashram.com), INDUSA Endowment Fund by Dr. Kishan & Kiran Bhatia, and Lend-A-Hand India (www.lend-a-hand-india.org).
Vigyan Ashram is a center of the Indian Institute of Education (IIE), Pune. It has been working for 28+ years to integrate education with rural development. It develops and disseminates rural technologies through “Introduction to Basic Technology (IBT)” for students of grades 8th to 10th. Currently, IBT is implemented in over 92 schools in Maharashtra, promoting Learning While Doing and creating self-employment opportunities for rural youth and women.
Lend-A-Hand-India is a non-profit venture launched in 2003 by young professionals based in New York city USA. LAHI focuses on issues pertaining to youth and through various programmes provides vocational training, career development, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities to youth from rural and urban communities. LAHI collaborates with dynamic grassroots non-profit organizations to develop and implement innovative projects. In line with this, LAHI has been working in the education sector for past five years with a vision of “To make a difference in the lives of the poor through self-help”.
INDUSA is a family fund created by Dr.Kishan and Kiran Bhatia and is funding various innovative projects we call PTI or Practical Technologies Initiatives to help rural communities developments. Dr. Bhatia is writing on many development issues
